DESCRIPTION: This hand-turned goblet is crafted from Yakusugi cedar native to Yakushima Island, Kagoshima Prefecture. The warm, concentric grain patterns and gently flared silhouette showcase the wood’s natural beauty and the artisan’s skill at the lathe.

In Japanese tradition, Yakusugi cedar—trees aged over a thousand years—is treasured for its resilience and deep, aromatic character. Objects made from this sacred wood are believed to bring harmony and longevity to daily rituals.

Each piece is a testament to Yakusugi’s rarity and the region’s centuries-old woodworking heritage, making it both a functional sake cup and a collector’s heirloom.
